Curriculum and Assessment

The curriculum is built to replace superficial summaries with a disciplined sequence: context, sources, concepts, comparison, interpretation and reflection.

A substantial course library

The current academy contains 12 core courses, 61 organized topics and 250 published lessons. Each course description identifies its focus, intended audience and study pathway. Learners can begin with a foundation course and progress toward civilisation-specific, philosophical, mystical or esoteric subjects.

How each course is structured

  1. Orientation: purpose, vocabulary and study method.
  2. Historical context: chronology, cultures and transmission of knowledge.
  3. Primary and secondary sources: what survives, who produced it and how it has been interpreted.
  4. Conceptual study: myth, symbol, ritual, philosophy and sacred language.
  5. Comparative analysis: similarities are examined without erasing cultural differences.
  6. Responsible interpretation: evidence, belief, symbolism and speculation are separated.
  7. Review: self-check questions help consolidate key ideas.
  8. Applied work: short research notes, source comparisons or symbolic analyses.

Assessment philosophy

Assessment is designed to show understanding rather than memorisation alone. Depending on the course, completion may involve lesson progress, self-check questions, a short written reflection or an applied comparative task. Requirements are stated inside the course before a learner submits work.

Academic integrity

Students should cite sources, identify translations, distinguish personal interpretation from historical evidence, and avoid presenting modern speculation as established fact. Plagiarism, fabricated sources and misleading claims are incompatible with the Institute’s study standards.

Completion certificates

Where a course offers a certificate, it records completion of the Institute’s educational pathway. It is not a professional licence, regulated qualification or university degree unless a specific page explicitly states otherwise and provides verifiable evidence.
